- Monet and Abstract Art - exhibition
From Tuesday, June 15 2010 to Sunday, September 26 2010
Monet in the context of abstraction…
This exhibition approaches Monet's work from a particular perspective: through the prism of abstract art. How did Monet's art tie in with the abstract movement?
In order to answer this question, this exhibition of 47 paintings will include a number of other works of art including pieces by Rothko, Richter, Pollock, Masson, Krasner, Tobey and Sam Francis… The visitor can thus compare and contrast these with works by the great French impressionist painter.
The Marmottan Museum hosts this touring exhibition just after its stint at the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum in Madrid.
